If anybody asks me what I miss most about USA then my one and only answer will be BUFFALO WILD WINGS!!!! It's an American casual dining restaurant cum Sports Bar which specializes in Chicken Wings and their 16 finger licking sauces.
I have many memories linked with that restaurant: we celebrated our first weekend dining there, our first New Year and so many similar events. We were so much fond of that restaurant that we ate there than any other restaurant in Portland.
If you're living in USA then you can get their sauces readily available in their restaurants. You just have to make the wings and coat them with the sauces. Otherwise follow the recipe to enjoy Buffalo Style Wings at the comfort of your home.
I had grilled the wings in the microwave by just brushing them with little bit of oil. It's much healthier option than frying the wings. If you want you can deep fry them too. So let's start with the recipe:
For the marinate:
1. Chicken Wings: 15-16
2. Black Pepper Powder: 1/2 tsp
3. Red Chilli Flakes: 1/2 tsp
4. Salt to taste
5. Oil for brushing
For the sauce:
1. Garlic Powder: 1 tbsp
2. Onion Powder: 1 tbsp
3. Corn Flour: 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp
4. Tomato Ketchup: 2 tbsp
5. Chilli Garlic Sauce: 2 tbsp
6. Green Chilli Sauce: 2 tbsp
7. Schezwan Sauce: 2 tbsp
7. Vinegar: 2 tbsp
8. Soy Sauce (optional): 2 tbsp
9. Honey: 1/4 tsp
10. Butter: 1/4 cup
For serving:
1. Carrots(thinly sliced): 7-8 slices
2. Cucumber/Celery: 7-8 slices
3. Ranch
4. Blue Cheese
Method:
1. Clean and wash the chicken pieces throughouly.
2. In a bowl take the wings and marinate it with black pepper powder, red chilli flakes and salt. Mix well and keep it aside for an hour or so.
3. Pre-heat the microwave on grill mode. When you're ready to grill the chicken wings sprinkle corn flour on the wings and coat them nicely. Brush them with little bit of oil. Place them on the rack and grill them for 4-5 minutes on each side.
4. In another bowl take all the ingredients mentioned under "For the sauce" and mix well with 1/4 cup of water.
5. Place a wok on medium heat and add a tbsp of oil. When the wok is hot enough add the sauce mixture and let it simmer for a minute. Make a mixture of 1/4 tsp of corn flour and little bit of water and add it to the sauce mixture.
6. Now its time to add the chicken wings and coat them nicely with the sauce mixture.
7. Take the chicken wings on the serving plate and serve it with the dipping of your choice and a side of carrots and celery. I was not having celery handy so I served them with cucumbers.
