Soya Chunks Kebabs

From last many days, I was craving for Kebabs but was not in the mood of making regular Kebabs made from Chicken or Mutton, I wanted to try something new. I googled Kebab recipes and came across zillion of recipes starting from chicken, mutton, fish, paneer, potatoes, chana and what not. One ingredient that caught my attention was Soya Chunks.

My family loves to eat Soya Chunks. They're very rich in nutrients. The protein content in soya chunks is even higher than that of lentils. So we must include them in our diet at least twice a week. Also, soya chunks are the best meat replacement. I know we sometimes get bored with the usual recipes and look for something different. I have few Soya Chunks recipes on my blog do check them out if you like:

Today in this post I'll share one more delicacy made from Soya chunks and i.e Soya Chunks Kebabs. Since soya chunks have high protein content vegan and gluten-free so you can easily feed them to your toddlers. The best part is they are super easy and quick.

Generally, three varieties of Soya chunks are available in the market: the larger ones, mini soya chunks and soya granules. The one which we have always handy is the larger ones. We can make these kebabs with any variety of soya chunks. I have used the larger chunks as they were lying in my pantry for many days. You have to just soak the soya chunks and then grind them in the mixer-grinder. You're ready to make the Kebabs.

So, without any further ado, let's begin with the recipe:

Chicken Malai Tikka Kabab

Mughlai Cuisine is one of our family favorite. Whether it's a Biryani, Korma or Kabab we love them all. Whenever we go to a restaurant or any guest visits our home one of our all time favorite appetizer/starter is Tandoori Chicken. I have already shared the recipe of Tandoori Chicken on my blog. You may check it out here (click here)

Today in this blog post I'm going to share another delicacy of Mughlai Cuisine and i.e. Chicken Malai Tikka. Chicken Malai Tikka is one of those exotic dishes that you can make when you want to have a fancy dinner or want to impress your family members. These succulent and fragrant chicken pieces just melts in your mouth and taste heavenly.

These Kababs serve as a great appetizer and a complete party pleaser too. If some guests are visiting your place you can do the prep work beforehand and pop them into the oven before serving.

So without much further rambling let's begin with the recipe.

Chicken Shami Kebab

Mughlai Cuisine - It's a cuisine which all Indians are die hard fans. Whether its Biryani, Kebab, Kofta or Rezala we all enjoy them equally. Thanks to the royal Mughal kitchens who taught us to cook these palatable dishes.

The taste of Mughlai dishes varies from mild to spicy and flavored with whole or ground spices. My home gets aromatic whenever I cook something from this cuisine. Last Sunday it was Thanksgiving weekend and I made Chicken Biryani and Shami Kebab for our lunch. Yes, as I mentioned in my Chicken Biryani post that I cook Biryani on every Sunday but this time I wanted it to be accompanied with Shami Kebab.

Shami Kebab are small paties made from minced meat, chana dal (lentil), flavored with spices and served with chutney. The process of making these kebabs is little lengthy but trust me it's worth the effort. The hypnotic aroma of these kebabs and clean licked plates gives you a sense of contentment.

So let's get started:
