Spicy Chilli Potatoes

Hello Friends..... I hope you all are doing good. As we all know the summer season is here and along with that, all our kids are at home due to the summer vacation. It's always good to involve our kids in our day-to-day activities. All year round they are so busy with their studies and extra-curricular activities that it's hard to make them involved in the household chores.

Whether it's cleaning, dusting, cooking or washing make them involved. They can do their own bit and will learn gradually. My 3 year old loves to help me in the kitchen. Today, in this post I'll be sharing the recipe of Spicy Chilli Potatoes.

This recipe of Spicy Chilli Potato is extra special for me because I have made this recipe along with my 3-year-old son. He has helped me from peeling the potatoes, onions, garlic to adding the sauces in the dish. This is a very simple recipe which can be made in a jiffy.
You can also make this dish if you have any guests at your home and can earn some brownie points.

So, without any further ado let's begin with the recipe:

Ingredients:

1. Boiled Potatoes: 8-10
2. Chopped Onion: 1 medium size
3. Chopped Capsicum: 1/2 medium size
4. Chopped Green Onion: 2 tbsp
5. Ginger+Garlic (crushed) : 2 tbsp
6. Corn flour: 2 tbsp
7. Tomato Ketchup: 1 tsp
8. Red Chili Sauce: 1 tsp
9. Green Chili Sauce: 1 tsp
10. Soy Sauce: 1 tsp
11. Vinegar: 1 tsp

Method:

1. Take a bowl and add the boiled potatoes in it.

2. Using a fork prick the potatoes so that they can soak all the spices.

3. Season the potatoes with salt and red chili powder. Add cornflour and coat the potatoes nicely.

4. Using a mortar-pestle crush the garlic. Once done take it out in a bowl. Similarly, crush the ginger and take it out in a bowl.

5. Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Add the boiled potatoes and fry them until they become crisp from outside. This will take roughly around 5-6 minutes.

6. In another pan add the crushed ginger-garlic and fry it for few seconds. Take care not to burn them.

7. Add the chopped onion and fry them for a minute.

8. Now add the chopped capsicum and fry them for a minute.

9. Now add the soy sauce, vinegar, red chili sauce, green chili sauce, and tomato ketchup. Now mix everything well.

10. Take a tbsp of cornflour and mix it well with 4 tbsp of water. Add this cornflour slurry into the mixture.

11. Now add the fried potatoes one by one and coat them nicely with the prepared sauce mixture.

12. Our spicy chili potatoes are now ready to serve. Serve them with chili vinegar and garnish them with spring onion. Enjoy!!
